Sat, 19 December 2009 The majority of this podcast is taken up with an entire replay of Ourobouros Podcast #67 that was originally broadcast on 23rd August 2008. It's an episode where I publicised a compilation that raised money for the 'Love Music, Hate Racism' campaign. Between the tracks I went in-depth into the dangerous policies and practices of the British National Party. This is by far the episode of my podcast that I am most proud of and I recorded a new intro and outro that looks back on it. I am sure that there are people who now listen to my podcast who have never heard this show, so I thought this was a good opportunity to re-broadcast it.
TRACK LIST 1: Nebraska - New Uniform 2: Ten City Nation - TDK 90 3: We Start Fires - Hot Metal 4: Johnny Panic - Heroes Of Villains 5: The Hope - Confessions Of A Whore 6: Stagecoach - No Ded Enz 7: Bretton - Everything You Asked For 8: Lily Rae - Diane The Intro Music is an excerpt from 'Know Your Rights' by The Clash Comments[1] |
Wed, 16 December 2009 There has been some criticism laid at the campaign to get 'Killing In The Name Of' to Christmas No. 1. In yet another unplanned, bonus episode of my podcast, I go through these criticisms and explain my feelings on why they don't matter. Comments[2] |
Sat, 12 December 2009 Join the RATM Campaign Facebook Group. Only one track on this special episode. Sun, 22 November 2009 This is basically an announcement podcast about the changes that are coming to this show. It will continue with my traditional 'Best Track' and 'Best Video' podcasts in the 1st week in January. However those shows will not be in this feed. The new podcasts will be released at feeds.feedburner.com/ourobouros. Also in this show I briefly talk about the PodCrawl yesterday and the reasons I'm leaving AMP. This was only going to be a verbal announcement podcast, but one of the tracks that very nearly made the cut as one of my 10 tracks of the year seemed very appropriate to play in this show. Attack Ships On Fire - Let Me Be As always the intro music is an excerpt of Put You In Your Place by The Sunshine Underground Comments[2] |
Fri, 20 November 2009 This show is not dead. I will be returning in the new year after I've sorted out the technical details. I will be releasing an episode on Sunday or Monday explaining the changes. I would do it now, but PodCrawl is going to get in the way. Mevio {Mevio-fefcac733bca94504d3f2157c714aef3} Category: general -- posted at: 12:02 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 13 November 2009 The episode title is not a joke. Just listen. Mevio {Mevio-fefcac733bca94504d3f2157c714aef3} Comments[2] |
Fri, 6 November 2009 It occured to me that I didn't fully explain why I don't play the same track multiple times. My philosophy has always been that there are many bands out there that deserve exposure. If I play the same track multiple times then that's taking a slot on the show that could be taken by a fresh new band. That's not to say I don't play the same band multiple times, just not the same track. If you hear it once that should be enough. If you like it you can always rewind and listen to it again. Another great facet of podcasting. Another call for more bumpers for Weird Track of the Week. I'd still like more efforts in my archive and your imagination deserves to be heard on the show. Truly pitiful amount of videos this week. Not even some live performances. The video I do have is pretty good to make up for it. Birds Of Tokyo - Wild Eyed Boy On Weekly Music Video Podcast this week an animated video that was made using a free program. Very imaginative and a very interesting style. Check it out on Friday. Now off to catch up with some music podcasts. Category: Video Links -- posted at: 10:27 PM Comments[0] |

Sat, 31 October 2009 As was plugged in this episode, and in various forms for the last few months, please go and have a look at The Legion Of Tangent. A syndicate of 6 geek-centric podcasts that are all highly entertaining. There's talk that more shows will soon be entering the fold as well. Here's the promo I recorded for the syndicate. It's occured to me that there is another genre of music I'm prejudiced against that has so far escaped inclusion onto this podcast. Reggae. I just don't get it. I'm probably the wrong generation (Marley was a huge deal before I was even born), but it just all sounds the same, derivative and dull. This is not to say that I will never include some reggae on the podcast, just that it seems unlikely. As ever another call for my listeners to provide some Weird Track of the Week bumpers. I'd still like more and I know I have some creative listeners. Not a great deal on the video front this week. The Blue Seeds vid is creepy and weird, but the rest is mostly live performances. New Nobility - Blue Butterfly Lights Out Dancing - Worth The Wait [Live Performance, Poor Quality] The Cold Rush - Open The Doors [Live Performance] Two Cow Garage - Your Humble Narrator [Live Performance] The Blue Seeds - Lost And Delirious On WMVP this week a video that tackles the conformity of a non-conformist cultural grouping. A pretentious way of saying a cool vid about hipsters. See you next week for some more music, ranting and irrelevant sport. Category: Video Links -- posted at: 4:59 AM Comments[1] |
