Ourobouros Podcast
UK based indie/unsigned music. Good Music Is Infinite.

Good Music Is Infinite

An Ourobouros is an ancient Greek symbol of a snake biting its own tail that symbolises infinity. The idea is that there is infinite good music out there that people should hear and I intend to play some of that music.

It's quite humbling that one of the artists I played thought enough about what I said about their music that he bothered to make a video of my words. Like I said on the show it's possibly the coolest thing that any artist has ever done that involves me. There are actually 2 versions of Goldi's video online. One that has a full version of my intro and one that has a slightly edited version of my intro followed by the video to the track.

It's interesting that scrolling along the bottom of the MSNBC interview with Goldi in that video it says that Floyd Landis had just won the Tour de France. Of course we now know that he didn't, the lying, cheating steroid freak. Fortunately in his big return in the Tour of California he was nowhere. Congratulations to Levi Leipheimer who has almost certainly won the tour. Trivia Corner: The decisive time trial in the Tour was held in Solvang, which is the main setting of the excellent film Sideways.

Since I haven't plugged it in a while, remember you can follow me on twitter @ourobouros54.

What this weeks video list lacks in quantity it more than makes up in quality. Only two videos, but they are both brilliant. Beangrowers go for a fantastic approach that makes a lip sync video out of hundreds of still photos and Bluejuice jump out of a plane in pursuit of their art.

Beangrowers - Not In A Million Lovers
Bluejuice - The Reductionist

The next episode of the audio podcast will be the second anniversary show. SEND ME YOUR SUBMISSIONS! On the VidCast this week we will have an excellent cell animated video. So see you next time and remember that fuckwit Rush Limbaugh.

Did you notice that I didn't mention Valentine's Day. Maybe it's only because I'm single, but it seems to me that if you need one day to make a special effort and be romantic, then you're in trouble. Bah Humbug!

The webcam I have going spare is a refurbished Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000. Make me an offer if you're interested or it's going back on ebay.

Not a bad selection of videos this week. Fall Back Plan do interesting things with what is basically a performance video and Nadine Loren goes for a haunting minimalist approach.

Julie - Do Si Do [Live Performance]
Fall Back Plan - SuckaPunch
In This Moment - Forever
Janus - If I Were You
Nadine Loren - Big City

See you on Wednesday for another Weekly Music Video Podcast and on Saturday for another audio show and remember I hate February.

A surprisingly short episode from a cold and snowy Bath.

One thing I forgot to mention is the trouble I've been having this week with myspace. As you know I've just started a new podcast the Weekly Music Video Podcast (hint, hint). Myspace is the quickest way of getting in touch with the video directors to get permission to play videos on the show. The problem is that the new show has a blogspot URL and whenever I put the blogspot URL in the message it tripped the spam filter. I had to change my password about 5 times. It's a sorry state of affairs when having a website on a specific service is automatically treated as spam. Dear myspace, not everybody using a blogspot URL is a filthy spammer.

Almost a complete set of videos this week. Rachael Sage brings us a bizarre cabaret show and The Vanguard has a sweet, romantic video shot in a very interesting way.

Clubfeet - Teenage Suicide (Don't Do It)
Val Emmich - Hurt More Later
Rachael Sage - Vertigo
The Vanguard - Rio
Hooray for Earth - How Are You Here
Pen Expers - Valentine Shirt [Live Performance]

See you next week and remember, it won't win any marks for originality.

Forgive the new podcast not showing up this week. I absolutely promise that this Wednesday (4th February) the Weekly Music Video Podcast will be available from wmvp.blogspot.com.

One thing I forgot to mention about Lazy Fat Stupid American. If you go to lazyfatstupidamerican.com for a limited time the track will be available for free download. I'm sure that if good ol' Rush has heard of Johanna Sigurdardottir (or even Iceland) he would definitely not approve.

Not bad videos this week. the Age of Sound video is an excellent rotoscoped video that I'm hoping the director lets me use in the new VidCast. CoolHunter have decided to make a video using martial arts and motorcycles. Barmy.

the Age of Sound - Anyone
Now And Forever - The Blacksmith [Live, acoustic, poor quality version]
Blonde Acid Cult - Calypso [Live Performance]
CoolHunter - My World

See you on Wednesday for the VidCast and on Saturday for the next podcast, and remember bigotry knows no compromise.
