Sat, 29 August 2009 A late release this week, but hopefully the last for a very long time. The new laptop is purchased and this is the first show recording with it, but teething troubles combined with a dodgy internet connection on the desktop has delayed the release. It turned out one of the dogs had peed on a phone connector and thankfully the internet is back to being reliable. Speaking of the dogs, I forgot to mention on the show that the puppies celebrated their first birthday this past Tuesday. Yet 2 of them are still too wobbly to get up on the sofa by themselves... Pleeeease watch the excellent web show First Things First TV hosted by the lovely and multi-talented Heather Stewart. Anyone on twitter should also follow @penciljesus. (I'm @ourobouros54 BTW) Apparently some of my audio will be showing up on the next episode of Rant & Dick's Saturday Night Piss Takeaway. Very crude but very funny. It's certainly not for everyone, but go along, have a listen and see what you think. Quite a full list of videos this week, including an excellent one for The Protist that will be showing up on a future episode of WMVP. The A-B Theory video is a live performance of the song that also features a second track that's equally as good. Sawoff Shotgun - Lip My Stockings Oh No Not Stereo - Let's Get It Started Scarlet Grey - No Boys In The Ballroom [Live Performance] The A-B Theory - Tell Me How Colorado Is [Live Performance, with an extra track] The Protist - Cumulus Weekly Music Video Podcast will hopefully be returning this Wednesday. If not it will be the week after. Now I've got the laptop Hopefully I'll be on time next week. I always aim to release the shows at 2pm UK time Saturday. See you then! Sat, 22 August 2009 Still getting glitching on the audio. Curses! Yet another reason I need a laptop. The Donate button on the right is going to remain active for the next few weeks. Please help out if you can. In the category of odd coincidences, Anton Peterlin, the young American Everton player I was talking about on the show, went to college at Cal Poly-SLO. The home of my good friends at the Hyper Nonsense podcast. Please check out the very cool InsideOutcast. They really are the cool kids across the pond. In another case of making contact at one remove, I'm pretty sure I'e just been followed on Twitter by Brandi's sister... Not much on the video front this week. Only a live video, an odd fan-made effort and one absolutely genius piece of work. Pluto Revolts - Collar Up Against The Wind [Live Performance] Modwheelmood - Sunday Morning [Unofficial fan-made video] Roche Limit - My Friend Ship WMVP is taking a short hiatus until I get my laptop. When it does return expect to see the Roche Limit video. By next week I should have ordered my laptop. Fingers crossed. Category: Video Links -- posted at: 4:55 PM Comments[0] |

Sat, 15 August 2009 So yes folks, I'm asking you for money. If you can donate to my laptop fund please click the button on the right to donate through PayPal. I've now found a new button that donates in £ not $. On top of everything else the audio glitching is back this week. Curses! Possibly another reason I need a laptop. For people outside the UK here is a representative sample of the shit Phones4U adverts. This is the reason I didn't go there when investigating mobile internet dongles. Phones4U - Scary Mary Here are links to the other podcasts mentioned on the show The InsideOutcast Rant and Dick's Saturday Night Piss Takeaway The Box Room (Forums for The Box Room, where you can find the 26 track mixtape I made for Jen) The Random Three The My First Earthquake video is a really nice tongue-in-cheek piece of work with the subtitle 'Invasion of the Hipster Bodysnatchers'. Pretty much how I feel about the latest fashion fad. The Haiku - Amber [Live Performance] My First Earthquake - Cool In The Cool Way Staedler & Waldorf - Mode In Mind On WMVP this week not so much a video as a power point presentation. Check it out on Wednesday. See you next week with an update on how the laptop drive is going. Category: Video Links -- posted at: 10:26 AM Comments[2] |

Thu, 13 August 2009 I've come to the conclusion that I am in need of a laptop for the future health of my shows. Buying one off ebay has proved a failure and I have made the hard decision to ask my loyal listeners to donate a small amount to help me purchase a brand new laptop. In the 2 1/2 years I have been producing podcasts I have never asked my listeners for money, and never really wanted to, but for this specific problem I have made the decision to ask that each of my listeners dip into their pockets and make a small difference. If each of my loyal listeners make a £5-10 donation I can quickly get the new equipment and ensure many more years of podcasting. If you can please use the button on the right. Thanks for your time and patience. Category: general -- posted at: 8:41 AM Comments[0] |
Sat, 8 August 2009 I'm in the process of sorting out a brand new recording set up and I've been having some teething problems. Given I'm already well past my release schedule I've made the decision to forget about this weeks show and come back better than ever next Saturday. Sat, 1 August 2009 Hurrah! No audio glitches this week. Maybe I've finally solved my recording problems. Fingers crossed. This is rapidly turning into the worlds only music/rant/cycling podcast. Normal service will be resumed next week since there's no major cycling races this week and barring more doping announcements I'll be laying of the peleton for a while. Not much on the video front this week. A very literalist video from Art Noir, which seems to have been shot in a botanical garden, A well shot performance video from Ume and a couple of live videos. Art Noir - Silent Green The Sweet Hello - Love Maker Heart Breaker [Live Performance] Kidnapper Bell - Targets [Live Performance, Poor Quality] Ume - The Conductor On WMVP this week an award winning video that completes my mini series of performance videos. See you next week for more great music, less cycling and hopefully no more audio glitches. Category: Video Links -- posted at: 9:01 AM Comments[0] |
