Ourobouros Podcast
UK based indie/unsigned music. Good Music Is Infinite.

Good Music Is Infinite

An Ourobouros is an ancient Greek symbol of a snake biting its own tail that symbolises infinity. The idea is that there is infinite good music out there that people should hear and I intend to play some of that music.

Please don't think that I am insulting my fellow podcasters with my theories about psychology. I just think it's an interesting question and one that I include myself in.

You can download the Goth/Industrial Mixtape from the Boxroom forums. While you're there have a listen to The Boxroom, The InsideOutcast and The Black Dog Podcast.

Have a look at Phil Cooper's brilliant concept charity album The 9 Album.

A kind of sports special this week since I didn't have much to talk about.

Here's an article describing in more coherent detail the tale of the moronic James Martin. Cycling and cyclists in Britain have absolutely no respect.

I've now discovered that my beloved Everton are facing Blackburn Rovers tomorrow. Ordinarily it would be a game that Everton were marginal favourites for, but on current form it could go either way.

Not a bad selection of videos this week.

My First Earthquake - Outta The Band
Pluto Revolts - Bed Of Nails [Live, Acoustic Performance]
Zambri - Easier
The Cold Rush - Never [Live Performance]
The Raygun Girls - Look At Me [Live Performance]

On WMVP this week a parody song that has a fruit slasher film for a video. One of the most interesting sentences I've written on this blog. You can catch it on it's new release date of Friday.

Very, very, very late with the video blog this week so heres just the highlights.

District 9 Trailer - Can you spot the clue as to what the film's main plot is?

We Didn't Start The Flame War - Hilarious parody of the Billy Joel original for anyone who's ever been involved in a forum.

This weeks videos. Very slim pickings.

Frozen Inertia - Picking Up Where Billy Joel Left Off
Hot Beds - Leave Everything [Live Performance, Very Poor Quality]

A few quick updates that have come up in the hours since I recorded this show.

I spoke too soon about the crashes in the Vuelta a Espana. After I recorded the show I watched the footage from Wednesday's stage into Liege in Belgium. There was this MASSIVE crash and American Chris Horner has had to go home with a fractured pelvis and left hand. In all my years of watching cycling I can only think of one other crash on such a scale. Professional cycling is not for the timid.

The handheld mouse I ordered from China has finally arrived... and it's left handed. No big deal but slightly irritating.

For anyone wanting to follow up on my rant about movie studios listen to Episode 63 of the /Filmcast featuring Director of Fanboys Kyle Newman.  The full discussion of the trauma that Newman had to go through is on the 'After Dark' of Episode 63. It makes for some very sobering listening.

Not much on the video front with only one 'proper' video. Having said that it's a great, trippy video that fits the Drool Brothers' song perfectly. The Tigersapien. video is also so well shot it could almost be a produced video.

Profuna Ocean - Changing Legacy [Live Performance]
Drool Brothers - Journey To The Center Of The Mall
Bang Bang Eche - Fingers In The Till [Live Performance]
Tigersapien. - Luxury [Live Performace]
Soaked In I - Sometime Maybe  [Live Performance]

I faithfully promise that I will try to wrench myself away from Pro Cycling Manager long enough to record a new batch of Weekly Music Video Podcast. in any case you can go to the site and watch the archive. You can also stream them all from Vimeo.

See you next week and remember to tell me if the poorer audio quality is too distracting.
